MIB Explorer Functions Overview
- Browse
- Displaying MIB object instances in the MIB tree (by double-click on a node).
- Browsing sub-trees with detection of inconsistencies between retrieved values and MIB definition. Directly modify browsed values from within the browse result table.
- View, Edit and Create SNMP Values
- Setting single MIB object instances directly from the MIB tree.
- Viewing and editing SNMP tables in a sortable and transposable table frame with virtually unlimited undo/redo that can also be filtered for an index range; table contents can be refreshed periodically and exported to a CSV, XML, or XLS file; easy row creation by advanced index editor. Augmented and expanded tables are detected and the user can edit/view all or an arbitrary subset of those tables in a single table view.
- View and edit related SNMP tables in a grid for better overview of related tables.
- Viewing and editing scalar instances of a subtree in a table frame with virtually unlimited undo/redo; table contents can be refreshed periodically.
- Advanced value editors with DISPLAY-HINT format input/output, smart OID lookup by lastname, and IP address lookup by hostname.
- Receive Traps and Notifications
- Monitor
- Monitoring SNMP values from arbitrary targets with fully configurable data consolidation and chart display, including export of collected data to CSV
and XLS files and export of charts to JPEG, GIF, PNG, and PDF files. Monitors support index calculation and spreadsheet like expressions. A passive data collection mode allows monitors to collect data from
notifications.
- Alarm conditions can be configured, to send notifications or other SNMP operations, send an Email, or execute a system command.
- A monitor server process can be run headless to monitor targets 24x7 via HTTP. Three customizable servlets provide monitor data and charts as well as
scripts that change/display SNMP data. The monitor server can be remotely controlled and monitored using secure SSL connection.
- Monitor data and configuration can be saved regularly as XML or binary file while the monitor is running. New in v3: Store collected data and monitor configuration in a relational database using JDBC.
- Automate Management Tasks
- Debug and Analyze SNMP Agents
- Discover SNMP Entities
- Discovery of SNMPv1/v2c/v3 agents and addresses by scanning networks using seeds.
- MIB Specification Authoring
- Export SNMP Data
- Dumping MIB tree (including possibly retrieved instances) to a text file.
- Exporting table and browse data to CSV (Comma Separated Values) as well as table data to XLS files.
- Administration
- SNMPv3 user administration on multiple targets, including USM user creation for local and remote users, password modification, and user deletion.
- Save a snapshot from a table or sub-tree and restore it to an agent at a later time.
